From its inception, Lee has been involved in the successful West End show COOL RIDER, which is based on a cult musical sequel. Lee was Musical Director, Orchestrator and Vocal Arranger, and along with a couple of guys in his team, had to write down every single note from scratch. The show played a sell out one-night concert in January 2014 at the Lyric Theatre London starring Reece Shearsmith, Ashleigh Gray and Aaron Sidwell. It was then mounted for a week long Easter run at the Duchess Theatre in April 2014, with Ashleigh and Aaron reprising their roles, joined by Mark Benton and Niki Evans. Lee orchestrated the show for an 8 peice band, who performed live onstage at every performance.
After its succesful run, the producers launched a Kickstarter campaign to preserve the sound of the show. The target was hit and in April and May 2015 members of the Lyric and Duchess casts, along with some new alumni, recorded the Original Studio Recording of Cool Rider.
The album can be previewed below, and purchased on iTunes with the physical CD available through the Cool Rider Store website (ships worldwide). If you would like to find out more about Cool Rider, then please visit the official website.

'Lee Freeman's orchestrations on the album are so fresh and exciting'
Broadway World, Cool Rider - Original Studio Cast Recording
'Lee was very approachable. His tracks are of a high quality and he worked to the brief we gave him, making amendments in a timely fashion. We have used him for panto as well as the UK Premiere of a 30 venue tour and will continue to do so in the future. Highly recommended, perfect alternative to a live band'
James Tobias Clifford for Immersion Theatre Ltd
'A Brave and Touching composer'
'Perhaps the real star of the show here is Lee Freeman's superb work on the musical arrangements, and the on-stage band. Creating these new orchestrations from scratch, they expose all the brilliant writing in the show, and the cast sing the life out of the material'
The Public Reviews, Cool Rider - Duchess Theatre
'The Cool Rider Original Studio Recording will pay homage to the concert, immortalising not only the unforgettable songs, but the work of Arranger and Orchestrator Lee Freeman'
West End Wilma, Cool Rider - Original Studio Cast Recording
'Musical Director Lee Freeman has done an incredible job orchestrating new arrangements by ear from the original soundtrack, and in doing so has created something highly addictive; the type of soundtrack you can listen to over and over without getting bored'
